About the Author

 

I was born in Budapest, Hungary and emigrated to the US after the failed 1956 Revolution. Currently, I live in Western North Carolina with my husband Paul and my cat, Pixi. My children are grown and have children of their own now. A new grandchild is due to join us in July!

Sunlight on Shadow  is  my  first  book,  a memoir of my birthplace. I wanted to share with my descendants the story of where they are from and what their history is. I found that as I wrote, I was also writing for the American public, which knows very little about Hungary, and what they know is often not quite correct. Hungarian history is taught from someone else's perspective .

Currently, I am working on a novel, historical fiction, also set in Hungary in the 20th century. It is a story of romance and loss and survival. I am also writing short stories about things that move me. You can see them on my Facebook page.
